If it isn't some random website (or us of course) leaking pictures of upcoming motherboards, it's the manufacturers themselves and MSI Europe has posted several shots of its upcoming 990FXA-GD65 motherboard on its Facebook page. Although it doesn't give away everything, it does at least give us a decent idea of what to expect.
Unlike the 990FXA-GD80, the 990FXA-GD65 doesn't have a heatpipe, although MSI has at least used screws to fasten all the heatsinks. The slot layout is the same as on MSI's current 890FXA-GD65 with a pair of PCI Express x1 slots at the top, a x16 slot, two more x1 slots, the second x16 slot and finally a PCI slot. This is mostly fine, as long as you don't intend to make use of the PCI slot alongside a pair of graphics cards.
Overall there doesn't seem to be any huge changes between the 990FXA-GD65 and the 890FXA-GD65, as both boards have six SATA 6Gbps ports, an extra 6-pin power connector for extra power to the PCI Express slot, a Renesas USB 3.0 host controller and 10-phase power regulation. What might change is the rear I/O layout and as MSI has as yet to provide a picture of it, we don't know if it has changed or not. Hopefully MSI has also added support for a pair of front USB 3.0 ports as well. Again, we'll know soon enough, as Computex is now only a week away.
