After years of saying I'd go to this island, I finally got my butt there!
Three ways to get there (three that I know of anyway):
1. Via Palompon, Leyte - 6 hours boat from Cebu City plus 30 minutes to Calanggaman Island
2. Via Nailon, Bogo - 2.5 hours bus from Cebu City plus 2 hours to Calanggaman Island
3. Via Maya or Malapascua - 3.5 bus hours from Cebu City plus 1.5 to Calanggaman Island
Fee for nonPalompon residents is Php 150. Add Php75 if staying overnight.
No fresh water and electricity on the island.
No cottages for sleeping, just day use (Php 250).
There are police and a lifeguard assigned on this island.
There's a toilet and dressing room.
Drinks are sold on the island by the LGU.
There are seasnakes on the rocky side of the island. They come out at night to rest on the rocks.
There are sea turtles on the other end of the island.
There are giant clams somewhere at the back.
Never attempt to swim at the sandbar.
Thanks rans23 for all the info you shared, but in the end we opted to go via Maya. The lifevest won. Haha
