if mag increase ang sweldo, mo domino effect ni..
    - ang mga negosyo mangtangtang kay dli na kaya specially those na mobreak even lang. modaghan hinoon wlay trabaho
    - Many wil go to prostitution because they are jobless.
    - mo mahal even the most cheapest things like
    (a)pandesal
    (b)internet cafe
(c)kanang mga food carts sa mall or kilid2
    (d)carenderia

Most ani nila specially ang mga bantay nila kay minimum earner man.

    the best solution is for those earning minimum wage na maningkamot na magtigum or maninguha na makagawas asa minimum wage like;
    - magnegosyo
    - work hard to get promoted
    - developed some skill and transfer to a much better job with good salary

instead ang mga pinoy, instea na maninguha mag tanga nalang na increasan.

i think this will have a bad effect on the economy, prices will go up because people will have more money spend and the inflation rate will go up. mao bitaw e control sa central bank ang money/cash inflow or kwarta mo sad sa market para di grabe ang inflation.

wage increase wont solve it. higher wages means higher costs for business. this will be passed down to customers.

I think the gov't has to spend on training workers who didn't have the opportunity to go to college.

The more skilled we are, mas in-demand ta, wether diri sa pinas or abroad.

ang atong sweldo based sa atong nahimong contibution sa usa ka kompanya. dili na based kung pila atong anak or pila atong gipaskwela.

in a macroeconomic perspective and under the "demand-side" economics, the rationale of a wage hike is to increase the purchasing power of the workers, thereby enabling them to buy more goods, fueling economic growth with the increased local demand.

will this have inflationary tendencies (i.e. increase in prices)? yes. the factors that would comprise this would be the higher cost to produce goods (due to an increase in wages), as well as the increase of demand for these goods that usually increase prices.

the main problem that we have is that most of the blue-collar industries that we have produces goods for export. when we increase the wages, giving workers more purchasing power, these industries will not benefit as their market is overseas.

an economic move as crucial as a legislated wage hike must not only think of one sector, but all sectors involved, though the move starts with the plight of the workers themselves.

it is no longer an argument if the wages need to be increased or not. what should be argued is what else should be done together with the increase.

a proposal is to make the export industry see that there is a potential market locally for their goods. SME's will not die out with a legislated wage hike, all the more, they will flourish since the demand for goods will be high as people can now afford them. more demand for goods, means more SME's producing them, hence more jobs.

are job lay-offs inevitable? most probably, especially for SME's. but the government should ensure job security especially for workers in TNC's and MNC's (transnational and multinational companies) as their profit margins can more than compensate for the wage hike. SME's need not die out as they can be the lifeblood of the economy later on.

a dependency on foreign markets to buy our goods creates further imbalances in the national economy as growth is only focused on a few sectors while the others will languish. this creates the classic disparity in incomes more often exemplified as the "rich becoming richer, the poor becoming poorer."
