HITS THE STUDIO ON OCT. 15TH
Southwings will have a busy month as the group is slated to perform live in acoustic at Kahayag Cafe in Mabolo, Cebu City on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 9pm. This was announced by Kahayag Cafe manager Gina Pestano over the weekend. The group, who is known for its country-rock genre, is also set to hit the Backyard Project Studio in Lahug, Cebu City on the 15th to start recording its tracks for the band's second album '***********.'
Songwriter-singer Valrock and brother guitarist Paul D has been on sessions with new guys bassist Alan Amante, keyboardist Ludiug Moses Agan, and drummer Jaymer Punay for quite a while now. The three new recruits joined the band last July.
Pestano, who plays keyboards for Cebuano reggae band Junior Kilat, wanted Southwings to play on the day that Bathalad, a group of Cebuano press people and writers, will hold its meeting in the restobar.
Southwings, who jammed with Spirit in Home Gig during the San Miguel Arcangel fiesta in Samboan (no pics taken), is known for its radio hit "High Time" from the debut album 'Something To Roll.' It would be expected that Kahayag crowd would be delighted with the band's usual repertoire of music from The Eagles, America, and its own timeless originals.
As well, the band is planning to perform one of its new songs on that gig.
