sir as what we stated below they're the same lens =) both lens are EOS if you did check the link i provided you for reference (canon lenses) you can see all the lenses that canon made.

If you go to a camera shop, tell the clerk you want 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and he will give you only 1 lens.. whether your camera is EOS whatever.. btw, try to read more on what EOS is to give you a better understanding.

taas nga zoom?... the 70-200 f2.8 will do it....

but 24-105 is a good choice... f4 lang ni cya... the 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 is much better choice kay pulos fast lenses... you'll never go wrong with this combo... ang dynamic sa picture lahi ra ani nga mga lenses... you'll understand what i mean when you grow more in photography...

labi na rebel T1i imong cam, mostly noisy na sa iso 800... so you'll need fast lenses para dili naka mo abot ug iso 800.... then you'll have more keeper shots....

by the way i dont like you calling me dude cause im a girl.. if u notice of my comment im so nice to everyone and appreciate all the comments.. im here at amazon.com checking on Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon ..when i search so many things come out so i nail it down to two choices.. one is Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras prices Reg. price $,1900 Sale $1,248 LINK then my other choice is this one Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Autofocus Reg Price $1,199 sale $1,179.95 LINK i just don't understand why they call them different other one is EOS and ther one is wide angle.. if they both the same i guess i buy the cheapest i can get as long they have same warranty..

anyway, is this a good lens, IS this a good choice? naa sad diay ko ask TAMRON brand is cheaper maayo ba ni sila..

With regards to your mull over why the sellers on Amazon named the exact same lenses several things, I can tell you- it's because they can. They have the freedom to call it fancy names(i.e. super mega ultra cool Canon Camera is the same with Amazing super magic Canon Cam) but even both names describe exactly what the lens is Canon Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto and it is also a Lens for Canon EOS SLR Cameras

A lens below 50mm is considered Wide (angle). Since this particular lens starts at 24mm, it is a Wide Angle lens.
above 50mm is also considered Telephoto, thus Wide (angle) to Telephoto lens for Canon EOS Cameras (EOS-the technology Canon uses for their dslrs.. and I guess all of the newer models since 1987 according to Wikipedia) I guess to put it simply EOS is the electronic coordination betweeen Camera (flash and the entire chuva system itself) and lens itself..

here's my tip:

first you gotta know what do you want to photograph. people, insects, landscape. from there you can now look for lenses that you really need.

as for your post here about 24-105, same ra man sila sheen, standard zoom lens, ma consider na wide cause of 24mm...if youre buying canon lens na "L" or with red mark circling the lens, maka sure nga quality gyud na sya.

my advice ayaw sa ug buy daghan lens..24-105 for is ok na for a start...as you go along and discover new things, dha nak decide unsa next nimo nga lens...halos tanan lens gi mention dri nindot...labi na ng 70-200 f2.8...fast lens and good for low lights...best for portrait but mabitin ka na kung sa landscape.

I've been buying from Amazon.com for years and I have to warn you that the items being sold are not direct from Amazon.com but from their partner companies. Amazon just process the payment while the companies 17th Street Photo or PRIMOTRONIX sells & ships the items to you.

Now having said that I feel that the prices are too high. Also there has been instances where in the 3rd party partners companies of Amazon delay shipment so I normally do not deal with them.

Adorama Camera has your lens for $1,089 + Shipping but I must warn you that Canon Philippines will not honor your warranty. And if you use your Philippine-based credit card you will be charged the bank's forex rates and not the rate you see online or on TV or the newspapers.

If this is your first lens then this is a good lens but only useful mostly outdoors.

The description on the two sites you linked are not standard.
