Thats is a good suggestion. But I already answered that few pages back. When you have a family, a child who you sends to school, there are more considerations that you need to make.

I am not talking trash about Cebu. Infact in the picture that I posted, it was Cebu and Davao.

Yes, I was pointing out kung unsay mga dili naku ganahan sa Cebu. Is that pangdaot? Tanan man naay kadaot sa isa ka lugar. Bisag aha. So what the fuss? I am not from Davao for the nth time. But I lived in Davao for 4 years, and is now living in Cebu for 5 years. So I can very well differentiate both Cities.

Can you deny the crimes in Cebu? No. Its all over Sunstar. bag-o lang naa na sad foreigners na nangilad sa isa ka resort, naay mga bata na nanghold up, that is in today newspaper. Everyday naa. Pangdaot ba diay na? The ever bakbakan between political parties. From Medelin to Lapu Lapu, to Talisay. Sus si Joavan, grabe ka controversial.

My point is, it could be better. If we learn to admit it and not shrug it off. Denying it is embracing the dangers. If we learn from Davao what we lack, it could make us better! Well, nisundog man ta sa vigilante pero its not the same as Davaos. sa Davao, ang vigilante killing is for and only sa mga drug addicts, users and pushers. Drug related ra tanan. Diri sa Cebu, di klaro.

Imagine if Cebu will have 911! With Cebus very good medical services, sus kanindot ba tana sa mga residente diri matulog with the assurance na help is just a dial away.

Kung ang police visibility nato is same as Davao. Kanindot ba.

Davao for me is ideal place to live, if and only if you have money to have your own business. What is lacking in Davao is what is in Cebu. Economic stability, Oppurtunities, mga gimik sa mga batan-on na dili nila makita sa Davao, mga bars na wala sa Davao, mga international hotels - although mahal kaayo. naa man barato pero kung pangit pangit sad labi na kung nakatry na ka ug adto Imperial, Plantation and the like, lisud na iappreciate ug Blue REef. hehehehehe

P.S. Cebu boomed because it is the most industrialized and progressive part in Visayas which is very accessible to both Cebu and Mindanao. Cebu is what it is today because also of the non Cebuanos who studied here and who works here. The main business of Cebu is tourism, medical and schools. Nikita ang mga hotels, schools ug hospitals sa mga mangdayo diri sa Cebu. Di ka makapapauli sa Davao kay compared to mga taga CDO, ug mga taga Iligan, ug mga taga Butuan, ug taga dinhang dapita sa Mindanao na maoy daghan kaayo diri. Ang Davao has better schools that what I have mentioned. They have good schools comparable to Cebu, so dili sila manganhi diri sa Cebu for schools. Sa pagpanarbaho guro daghan. Sa mga callcenters, although naa na sad sila gipang-ablehan didto sa Davao.

Cebu is a nice place for crying out loud. Crimes are everywhere, even to New York, Milan, Tokyo, etc even to Davao. its just that, dont throw false statement that even sa jeep mahadluk ug sakay kay daghan snatcher, hold-uper, ug grabe ka hugaw ang city <--- dont you think its trash talk?

I couldn't help but put my two cents in this forum, after reading some of the things people have posted.. some are downright hilarious, merely displaying the ignorance of the people who wrote such comments about either place.. which reminds me of the saying "Never judge people until you have walked a mile in their shoes." I think the same goes with anything else, much so with this topic..

I have worked and lived in cebu as well as in davao, but I am from neither place. I'm from dumaguete.. been visiting cebu since i was in primary school, would stay there for a couple of days para lang mag laag2 during my post-college year, then finally had to reside there while working. But when I visited davao for the first time in 2006, I fell in love with the place that I decided to go back after a couple of weeks, even if I had no idea what kind of job I could get there. I think that already answers the question, asa nindot puy-an? But generally, I think it's merely a matter of perspective and preference. For me, lahi ra ang mga tao sa davao, they have a certain kind of camaraderie. Didto, ma suklian jud ko sa mga taxi driver kahit piso lang sukli.. and there are countless more instances where I experienced a taxi driver's honesty during my year-long stay there, including a cab driver returning my cellphones that were left in the cab, even after he had picked up another passenger. On the other hand, sa cebu lang ko naka experience na gipa baba og taxi driver gikan sa iyang cab, kay di jud sya mohatod sa amo adtoan, kahit duol lang jud. Lain pa, sa davao, I felt safe enough to walk alone in the middle of the night to and from a coffee shop a couple of blocks away. Somehow, I never felt that security during my stay in cebu. The short walk to work even scared the shit out of me, having to pass by a shed right beside the road where a couple of young boys had a pot session almost every night. Even those kids na makit-an gasuyop rugby sa kilid2 sa dalan sa cebu, they scare me. I was shocked at how they openly did something unlawful. Apparently, I never encountered something like it in davao. Bottomline is, I think this is the kind of security and safety one looks for in a place na gusto nila puy-an. The everyday things that you have to encounter while living in the city.

In terms of ka suroyan, I think this is more of a matter of preference. But in my case, mas ganahan ko sa davao kay there's something for whatever you're up for - night outs, malling, nature-tripping, bisan unsa feel nimo buhaton. I know naa sad tanan sa cebu, but I just like the diversity in davao.

I guess it's obvious which place I prefer. In fact, I'm going back to live in davao after having to stay in my hometown for a while. Actually excited to do so since davao is just starting it's economic boom. Then again, I don't wanna say anything til I've actually experienced it myself. Bottomline is, I just wish people here don't give their opinion merely according to hearsay, especially when it's crap about either place. You don't have to pull the other down, just to get one some leverage.

Crime is evrywhere in a big city. Well, not in terms of land area. New York and L.A. have their own dose of problems when it comes to crimes in a big city. I'm sure Davao is a beautiful place to stay just as I would say that I'd like to stay in Montana for a couple of weeks. I remember mayor Tom once said, Davao city is 20 years behind in terms of economy.
I hope Davao will enjoy the same luck Cebu has with its local and foriegn investors. There should be a reason why they chose Cebu not Davao to put up their businesses. Gamay ra baya ang isla sa Cebu. Davao bya dako pakau og bakante.

I guess what I really have to say is that, I wish Davao will have the same manpower shortage just so dili na sila manganhi Cebu para mo trabaho. Luoy sad baya byaan ilang pamilya. Aron sad dili ma guba ilang kinabuhi mag cge og suroy sa mango Mao raba jud tawn na ilang ipang hambog nga nanuroy sila sa Mango. Hahaiz...
