pinaka basic? for personal survival, learn to float. even the best, strongest swimmers can get tired. floating saves energy while waiting for rescue. although problema hinuon kun dagko ang waves kay masudlan ang ilong maski mag hayang ra.
@diehard 96 > GOOD point sir jerry!..most people have a hard time floating or treading water. Geographically, ang Pilipinas is composed of THOUSAND ISLANDS..cheapest way of marine going to another island is by BOAT yet, about 60 percent of Filipinos DILI tawn kabalo mulangoy..No offense sa gobyerno pero i think BASIC SWIMMING LESSONS should be a MANDATORY addition on the current school curriculum..It hurts so BAD everytime i hear FOREIGN diving students of mine nga mkanotice nga daghan PINOY dili kabalo mulangoy..way back in their country daw, it's required as the youngsters progress with Basic Education..No WONDER on most sea tragedies, ubay ubay jud tawn ang mga MAKALAS nga kinabuhi..tsk..tsk..tsk..
suggest na sa deped shio, mag change man sa system K+12 na. dapat usa na sa addition. mao nay irony, ang pinas prone to almost all kinds of disasters and calamities and yet every year many pinoys die because they don't learn from the past. kahibaw nga daghan nang nalunod nga barko, nga dali mag baha, di maninguha makat-on mo langoy. kun kanusa mo taas nang tubig usa pa manguros...
@diehard96 > exactly!..maayo unta ug kaliwat tang tanan ni BEAR GRYLL!..ok ra unta!..hehehehe..
Most drownings are caused by panic. Panic leads to fatigue and then hypothermia. Even good swimmers drown because they do not think.
@pinoyapache > CORRECT sir!..starts with POOR JUDGEMENT then comes the very famous word > PANIC..when left unattended and without HELP, leads to DEATH..
the MORE you sweat in training, the less you BLEED in war..
initiated 50 meter swim with 5% of my wieght which is roughly around 12 pounds or 6 kilos..it aint a JOKE!..i find it very challenging and it's a good way to TEST your water proficiency..salt water and the heat of the sun ADDS up the challenge!..DROWN PROOFING skills will follow next on my list!..
SALT WATER is much more DENSER than FRESH WATER due to dissolved salts..SALT WATER makes water skills training a bit easier when u talk about BUOYANCY..But hey, never discount the fact that SALT water also gives you some CHALLENGES that fresh water don't have..ENVIRONMENTAL considerations plays most of the time when you are out in the OPEN sea..Bottom line, keep in mind to SWIM SMART and with a TRUSTED and PROFICIENT swim buddy!..
