For me... if mag open air intake nya imo simota or knn wala naka direct sa kung asa naay cold air mas maayo pa mag drop in ko na KNN.... for me lang ha....

kung mag open type ka make sure lang jud katong gi ingon ni jonz... adto dapit sa headlight bah or naka tago sa battery dapit... basta dili niya ma suyop ang hot air from engine bay, sa radiator fan and etc...
pero customize na noon na siya....

Sample kani... nag atubang siya sa radiator fan i think... most likely ang init sa radiator ma absorb niya...
Ma defeat ang purpose sa cold air intake.... i don't know but mao na ako analysis.... though less restriction ang pag suyop sa air padong sa Throttle body pero hot air pud....

Kani ang nindot na design for your fit para ma optimize nimo imong simota or knn open type air filter..
cold air intake jud na iya ma suyop....

Simota - dry type - since you will be removing the air box, you will hear the air being suck by the engine (rezing rezing feel ).

K&N drop in - wet type (oil) - this will just replace the OEM Air filter without replacing the air box, mas hilum pud ni. Im using also using a K&N drop in filter on my Honda Jazz, for me unnoticeable ang improvement in terms of performance, but what i like about this is the maintenance, simply clean the filter and re-oil every 10,000kms (I do every 5,000kms - kay abog kaayo diri sa ato) with the RECHARGER KIT and your good. dili naka mag cge ug palit ug filter. its been 5 years na wala koy ilis ilis ug filter just re-oil.

For me... I prefer the wet type (oil) rather the dry type, it filters dust better than dry type.

If you have a high performance engine go for the well known brands like K&N, Blitz, HKS, Apexi, etc., they have good R&D on their products and have tested performance gains. - mas mahal pud ni

try checking out this link... comparing air filters
    http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/fil...t/2/index.html

But if you have those normanl engines, stock replacement will do. saves you money.
