Can i use this device for wireless internet? (Westell Versalink 327)

To all gurus and masters in wireless set-up I have a problem with my device. Im a complete idiot to this networking set-up.

I have a Westell Versalink wireless DSL gateway model 327.

Can I use this device as a wireless router/modem? I dunno if I'm saying this correctly but I nid your help badly.
I don't have a CD on how to configure this modem/router coz it was not included. I got this from US when my mom sent it to me from her previous isp provider and later she
subscribe to another isp. I read the manual on the net and it says it can be used as a modem/ wireless router.

I tried to connect it to my pc replacing my alcatel plus2x 500 router/modem. The lights in my device blinked just as the alcatel set-up. (Power, Ethernet 1, and DSL but no internet light) I tried to reconfigure the setting in my network connection set-up but still i failed. When I browsed the connection status it says assigned by dhcp and it has a connection, but when i tried to browse using explorer and firefox i don't have any connection.

I doubt if this device would work here or any of you have encountered using this device please help me.
I need guidance from experts like you. Hope you could help me with my problem.

Power Consumption– < 8W typical from 120 VAC ( you need a AVR ) 110 volts rana watch out.

lahi man gud na settings or configuration kana na device. usa sad w-router with ADSL modem feature. try to inquire sa isp, if pwede ba kana na device gamiton.

That is a wireless modem/router. Basically modem with router(DHCP routing) and wireless capability. Usually mao na gamit xa ISP xa States. Usually naa na siya installation CD na pakapin, pero ang CD is gikan xa ISP, para mu sync ang settings nila. So useless lang sya if gamiton mu, since lahi man to ang ilaha settings kay xa ISP dinhi.

@istoryanimo, tama ka bitaw bro... xa ISP nalang jud inquire if pwede gamiton ang device.. pero I doubt it.. since its like giving you extra 4 lines for DSL.

bro ang uban na mga router wla nmn instalation cd na pakapin. they will provide you an ip add para ka sud ka sa config sa imong router. naa pud usa ka prob ana, ang router dli pwde sa globe or pldt. like emcore na router d pwde ADSL tym pro murun sa smartbro..

Connection nako bro is pldt. I tried calling the 171 hotline but dili daw sila mo configure sa device. Personal technician daw mo configure sako settings.

try lang bro.. basin magamit rana nimo.. e agi lang siya sa modem sa ISP, nya e pa config lang na ug technical guy.. e pa explore lang or ikaw sad e explore lang na maayo kong, kay ako cge man ko ug config ug wireless router pero karon pa ko kakita anang mananapa da..

@ceannix. Pldt hmm... btaw dili sila mo hilabot kana na device ang hilabtan nilan ang ilang product. you have to subscribe a dsl modem from pldt. Please read the terms and conditions before you get the plan. Mostly magsubscribers dili mo basa gud sa paper directchu signed dayon. wala sila kahibaw unsa g-signed sa paper.

Na.a naman ko pldt modem. Dba taga-an man ka ana once you subscribe from them? Dugay napud ko na subsrciber. Ako lang e-change unta og wireless modem since im planning to access the internet using my laptop. Dili man gud mo function ang lan card sako laptop. Anyway, thank you for the advice. Maybe i'l buy nalang a wireless router para sako wireless set-up puhon. Tnx

@ceannix. ah maoba... w8..try to press reset button ( its a small red dot) the Westell Versalink 327 for 10 seconds to insure to set default settings. After you reset then plug it into pc.

dsl modem >>> westell versalink >>> pc (lan port)

you can download the manual please check the model of your w-router ... after you download follow the procedures.
