Default Are you supporting federalism, what can you say about BBL?

Ako im a big supporter of federalism. Before the Mamasapano incident I was hopeful na madayun ang BBL kay nindot ni nga pamaagi sa pagsugod sa federalismo.

After the incident na hanap man ang tanan tungod sa mga factors nga ang ka deal diay sa gobyerno wa man diay ni sila nagtinarong. While naghuwat nga mapasar ang BBL nag kop kop man pod man diay ni sila og mga terorista.

kamo unsa kahay maayong solution ani?

di ba ma conflict sa imong conviction nga ganahan ka og federalism but di ka ganahan madayun ang BBL?

I stand that IF kaning experiment on federalism is to be considered, start with a more stable region, and without the secessionist parties in the discourse. All those guys deserve is a noose around their necks.

With that aside, I'm not sold on federalism, but I can understand why people would jump aboard that boat, its for people who are honestly fed-up with the Manila-centric culture in our government. I do think the capital has a responsibility to distribute development all-throughout the country. take that for what it is.

dugay naman ni bai, have you seen the draft?

unsa pod nga hidden agenda nga imong nakita.

ang sulti ni Iqbal nga once ma grant na ang BBL they will lay down their arms, ambot lang pod kung unsa pod na ka tinood.

ang mahitabo ani kay once ma balaod na ang Bill, mag tawag dayun ni sila og election from different group dili lang kay sa MILF, puede mga kristyano, lumad, og obang mga gropo within the Bangsamoro Region puede modagan as part sa parliament nila.

But IMHO, the problem is not really about centralization or decentralization. It's about the government's approach to development of the country as a whole. Sakto ka though, federalism will definitely fix that. But is it possible to fix the current problem with this current system? yes. GMA tried to, and that's one of the reasons she became unpopular. But do I think we need to decentralize the government? not necessarily, as long as dili sad mucontinue ning centralized development.

im not going to argue w/c system is better since we have not tried the other one but given our geographical and our anthropological differences I think that Federalism can best accommodate the various challenges involved in governing an archipelago.

but again, the point that im raising here is whether there is a conflict of conviction if someone is a pro-federalist yet opposes the BBL, is there a conflict?

Before we adopt federal form of government, we have to enrich the regions through attracting bulks of foreign direct investments which is impossible within the current system due to forced 60/40 equity ownership sharing of businesses and land.

Federal form of government has to be adopted eventually because it is difficult for Manila to manage the internal affairs of regions due to infrastructure problems, geography, language, or culture. Cebu and Bangsamoro for many years have resentment of Manila's interference in regional affairs no wonder MILF proposed a psuedo-federal BBL in order to be regionally independent from Manila. Cebu has been advocating federal form of government especially way back during Lito Osmeña candidacy for president in 1998 but never prospered.

We have to accept the fact that we are not one people one nation country unlike Japan or Korea, no wonder it would be difficult for Filipinos to express national loyalty over regional or familial one. Our cultural and linguistic diversities are the reason on why unitary form of government will never work in the country.
