HELP with AMD Desktops

Hello guys. I am planning to upgrade my PC. from intel to AMD.
It's mainly for gaming only. However, I have a tight budget.
This is my first time to use AMD. Can anyone give me suggestion
on what chipset to buy?

choose the 790 chipset..it offers a little more headroom for later upgrades...plus onboard video is entry level nah...

sorry for my late reply. nabusy ko kadali.

anyway, my overall budget for the upgrade is 12K.
the upgrade will only include the following:

motherboard
processor
video card
memory

my old intel pc have the following spec:

pentium D 940 3.2Ghz
2Gb DDR2 Memory
ASUS LGA775 board
nvidia Gforce XXXX 512Mb DDR. I forgot the actual model. my pc is off right now and m using my laptop. medyo mukamang na siya gamay basta higher spec nga games with full settings.

I am checking out AMD 7-Series Chipsets (phenom) right now pero mura mulapas siya sa akong budget if ever kani akong paliton. Question: do I really need an above average cooling system for phenom? kusog daw kuno kaayo ni mo-init but it is really good gyud daw.

please give me price range nalng pud sa inyong suggestions para akong ma weigh pud.

unsa nga combination imong ma suggest with 12k budget
para masulod sa AMD 790? with regards sa video card, pde
ra dili siguro kaayo high end for now as long as dili lng mukamang
sa mga games karon (like WOW and others...) with full settings.

I am planning pud of sacrificing some parts now just to get
higher processor speed. like i'll just use average video
cards and upgrade it later if naa na budget. basta dili lng pud built-in.

i just checked the 720 price and mahal2x naman diay
guess my 12K budget is really really tight. ^_^

anyway, is the Athlon II X2 250 (3.0G) 2mb AM3 good enough?
