Her name is Jesse, classmates kami nung highschool. Siya ay isang simpleng babae, matalino (kilala sya sa school namin kasi she’s a consistent honor student) at higit sa lahat mabait. Ako naman ay simpleng totoy lamang na pumupunta sa school na hindi nagsusuklay, payat ang katawan na yung tipong agaw- buhay kung titingnan, hindi ko nga alam kung bakit naging close kami sa isa’t-isa yun siguro ang tinatawag nila na kapalaran. Sa school palagi kaming magkasama, palagi akong nangongopya ng assignments sa kanya, sabay kami palaging umuwi ng bahay dahil mgkalapit lng din naman ang bahay namin. We were an odd pair back then but somehow we formed an unusual bond, a bond called friendship. Sabi nila hindi daw pwedeng maging bestfriends ang isang lalake at babae, it’s either one is in love with the other or pareho sila na may gusto sa isa’t-isa hindi nga lang masabi. Sa case namin, ako ang may hidden feelings para kay Jesse. Yes, I’m secretly in love with my bestfriend…

Ten years na since Jesse and I graduated from highschool, She is still my bestfriend, my first love, the one who owns my heart, but six months from now, Jesse will walk in the aisle and say her vows to her fiance Justine.

The year was 2004, Jesse and I went to different schools after we graduated highschool. She took up accountancy while I went into a nautical school. I said to myself na balang araw I will have the courage to tell Jesse in person about my true feelings for her. I studied hard, I forego my liberty as a free man in exchange for college scholarship, During those days Jesse and I exchanges few text messages every now and then.. yung mga tipong “Hi! Kumusta kna?”… pero kahit sa mga panahon na ‘yun hindi ko pa rin kayang sabihin kay Jesse na mahal ko sya, sa takot na baka mag-iba ang tingin nya sa akin… pero dahil sadyang ipinanganak itong c reynaldo manoloto na isang torpe, dinaig ako ng mga insecurities ko ‘nung mga panahon na ‘yun. And since I gave Jesse a letter on which I wrote my true feelings for her during our graduation, hindi ko pa kaya mkipagkita ulet sa kanya…
