    You mean virtualization like vmware/bootcamp/virtualbox?

You can run man siguro virtualization on any hardware as long as you have the resources. Maybe you mean Intel VT (Virtualization Technologies)?

    sorry nalng q...hehehe...

Which Intel CPUs Support XP Mode Virtualization?

Pag gamit nalang ug free virtual manager like virtual box. Kana bisag wala gasupport imo processor ug vitualization ok ra.

ayos man pud diay virtual box kay maski unsang OS imu ma-gamit...ang naka pait lang kelangan jud ug installer...hehe..ngita paq...

    cge salamat kaau mga bro...

From what I understand on what you're trying to do, you're trying to virtualize windows XP in Windows 7 right?

I have virtualized A LOT of operating systems using old crappy hardware. Nothing is stopping you from virtualizing any OS bisag wala pay Intel VT imong processor. VT is just an icing on the cake

PS: I have a Fedora 13 virtualizing XP here and a Windows 7 virtualizing XP, Windows 7(Redundant but has a purpose), Fedora 13. In the desktop where I am running W7 and is virtualizing many OSs, I don't even have Intel VT on even if its available for me to turn on

He's referring to the XP Mode w/c is downloadable as add-on on selected variants of windows 7.

With Windows 7, however, Redmond has provided a solution to the problem: Windows XP Mode. Windows XP Mode uses virtualization technology to let applications running on a virtualized copy of Windows XP show up in the Windows 7 Start menu and on the Windows 7 desktop.

Windows XP Mode is a downloadable add-on for Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. It has two parts: the virtualization software itself, and a disk image containing a pre-installed, activated, licensed copy of Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 preinstalled, complete with the glorious Internet Explorer 6.

The virtualization software is the latest iteration of Virtual PC. Although you wouldn't know it from the download page, this is available for any version of Windows 7 aside from Starter. You wouldn't know it, because selecting a version of Windows other than those previously listed removes the option to download Virtual PC. It shouldn't, though; it should only remove the option to download the Windows XP Mode image.

In a break from the past, the new version requires hardware virtualization support—Intel's VT or AMD's AMD-V. Microsoft's current server virtualization platform, Hyper-V, has the same requirement, but for Virtual PC this is a new demand, and one that's perhaps a little surprising. For virtualizing 32-bit guest OSes, far and away the most common usage scenario, the benefits of hardware virtualization are something between small and non-existent; though hardware virtualization is potentially a little faster, the difference in practice isn't perceptib
However thanks to your post, I was able to scavenge some interesting updates on the XP Mode feature. Last time I did an attempt to try XP mode was on my E5200 rig a year ago. It was unsuccessful as the E5200 cpu as said doesn't have any Virtualization support. I found this article which was published last march. It says Microsoft ( has or will, I'm not sure ) lessen the hardware requirement for their XP Mode. It will not require hardware with virtualization anymore.

Now if the statement is true, the ts shouldn't have any problem running XP Mode in the first place. Which leads us to one possible cause. XP Mode is only available selected Windows 7 variants after all. If the ts is using any variant other than the Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate, then he's out of luck.
