creating ad-hoc

-hello all, just got some question about creating a ad-hoc connection from my laptop.

-though creating one is easy, other devices such as (laptop and ippad touch) can detect them and even able to connect to my signal, the problem is that that ip is always the invalid 169.254.x.x, we cant make a really succesfull connection.

-somebody got a solution on this

-ohh by dway, laptop is running in xp computer wireless: b/g compatible.

i don't know if this is of any help,
but this is my adhoc settings between my laptop and psp to be able to play adhoc games online.

IP address: 10.0.0.1
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

or any ip address from a private range (10.0.0.x or 192.168.0.x = x being any number from 1 to 254 basta
wala lang other devices using that address)

- check on Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings

on advanced network access -
-check on computer-to-computer(adhoc) networks only
-check on automatically connect to non-preferred networks

yes ur right static ip since ur using adhoc infrastracture and don't have a DHCP to serve u some ip's.
