    Default Need Info:Air intake/Muffs/Header

    Im not into racing or anything. I just want to optimize the performance of my Honda Civic ESI(upgrade2x lang gud hehhee). Do you think it's a good idea to install these(Air intake/Muffs/Header)? Do they have disadvantages?

    Where is the best place to buy these? Affordable without sacrificing quality.

    Preference
    @intake: No idea.
    @muff: the quieter, the better
    @Header: no idea what this looks like.

    Please advise. Thanks.

    if you want a little more power in your 1st to 3rd gear, u can put those things but a little more gas consumption. but don't put the stock muffler if u want it quiet cause your intakes are useless. or just don't put the intakes(headers & racing air cleaner) then u can put a sports muffler with a quieter output.

    A litle insight for you , basin makatabang ko . You probably meant I/H/E or Intake , Headers and Exhaust and not muffler . Indeed for HONDA engines , these works really responsive in power output and better acceleration but fuel mileage is being sacrificed . The reason why it is sacrficed kay mo lesser ang fuel mileage nimo kay ni work harder ang engine nimo by giving you few extra horses .

    For most HONDA'S :

    Intake - get a CAI or COLD AIR INTAKE , a lot of manufacturers supports the Honda engines by making popular applications . The only reason you get UNIVERSAL AIR CLEANERS and SHORT RAM INTAKES is when there is no manufacturer producing that COLD AIR INTAKE that fits your engine .

    Headers - or EXTRACTORS , get the 4 - 3 - 1 type because most Honda engines gets its power from the mid range .

    Exhaust - buy an application for your car or you cna get fabricated . Just remember to have the pipe as straight as possible with mandrel bents . Mandrel bends means walay corners ang liko but rounded siya .

    ok first and foremost, now i know that exhausts and mufflers are not the same. toinks!
    i guess this work will cost me around 15k right?
    at first, i would just want a nice muffler tip design, to cover my old stock oem muff. but some1 advised me to change the muffler itself and (som1 told me again) that inorder for this to be done, i need intake also.... hmmmm.... its getting confusing already
    is there any alternative way to do this without sacrificing fuel efficiency?

    Keep your muffler and put on a nice polished tip . No power and decibel gains but you improved the looks of your cars behind .
