Just a random entry. Noticed that I haven't been stuffing this bag of memories for a while now so I figgered it was a good time for an update.
A few days ago I sent a book about Fairies (yes, those (often) scantily-clad, tiny beautiful girls with wings, i.e. Tinkerbell et al) to my 9-year old daughter as a reward for placing 2nd in an essay writing contest in school for nutrition month. I can't remember the exact title of the book, but it's huge and heavy. It had these pop-up pages, and inserts containing what I think are paperdoll kits, envelopes, stationaries, and, tucked and folded neatly on the very last pages are a pair of fairy wings. I sent it via LBC and I think she just got it today. I'll be calling her up later to ask her how she likes the book. She's been acing her exams, too, so yeah, the reward is very apt, and feeling "proud dad" here.

I have a slight fever (37.4 deg c) due to this irritating cough (irritating throat, and irritating to have to cough while having an irritated throat!). Might visit the doc tomorrow, better to be safe than sorry. After all, a simple strep throat infection can lead to something worse, i.e. Mozart's death ( http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090818/...life/us_mozart ).

I badly want to paint my airsoft Mk18 Mod0 and my new IBH helmet soon, but having this cough means that its a definite no-no to anything that would further irritate my raspy throat/windpipe (aerosol paints).
Thanks to my GF for taking care of me while in this miserable state. I just hope she doesn't catch what I have or else I'll feel doubly miserable. She also took these nice portraits of moi, plus beautiful shots of an orchid and some budgies the other day, which I will be posting in this blog soon (or maybe she'll be posting them on her blog).
On the job front, I've been making more moon rocks, redesigning a lunar rover prototype, learning new techniques to make 3D sculpts and enjoying the wonders of llRezObject and llRegionSay. I've also been making balloons (yes, balloons, you fill them up with helium and they fly away...they do exactly the same thing inside Second Life) and helium tanks (to provide helium for the balloons, of course) for a sim about Asthma (cough) in the Metaverse.
BTW on the amateur astronomy front, I dunno if anyone saw it (too bad because I missed it and it was super clear this morning too), but Venus was quite close to the waning crescent moon this early morning. Could have been a great photo-op.
