It is easier to enjoy your vacation if you know that everything is okay back home.
It's Holy Week, many of us will be packing our bags and getting ready for that long holiday. Some will be traveling back to their provinces, and some will have a weekend in hotels and beaches. However, there are times that you may not enjoy the vacation because you're thinking you forgot to do something really important before leaving like locking the front door or something like you forgot to turn off the light back at home that might cause a fire. Things like this will certainly interrupt your R&R. Here are tips to keep in mind before leaving this holiday:
Install Security Alarms
Alarms play a significant role in frightening housebreaker whenever they try to enter your home forcibly. Your neighbors or the security guards won't be there 24/7 but will know that someone is trying to break in when the alarms are triggered. Also, install fire alarms just for precaution.
Install CCTV (closed-circuit television)
The security guards will be roaming around the subdivision, but they will only see your house from the outside. However, with the help of the technology, you can see what is happening in your home in real time. You can see CCTV feeds from your home just by using your mobile device. This technology will help keep your mind at ease whenever you are away. You'll have to invest a few hundreds of dollars however it will be an investment in keeping your home and family secured.
Lock every door
Make sure that ever door is locked. Never make things easy on these robbers. Also, check the entire home for a possible entry point like broken windows or small holes and change broken locks and door knobs. We wouldn't want them to enter the property just with a slight use of their force.
How about your pets?
We cannot leave pets alone in the house for days. They will starve to death. We can ask a family member or your good neighbor to take care of them while you are away. If not, try visiting your vet if they offer pet sitting services.
Social Media
Avoid telling everybody that you are leaving on social media by posting about it few days before you leave. It may look harmful however there is also someone just waiting for an opportunity to strike and ravage your home. Just tell your closest friends about your trip or post it on social media after your trip is over.
