Claire Danes may known as a talented actress, but now she’s got another title to add to her resume: Galactic Cinderella. And that’s because, at the 2016 Met Gala in New York City, Claire Danes wore a custom light-up Cinderella-style gown by American fashion designer Zac Posen. The dress was so magnificent that it instantly went viral… and you’re about to see why!
This year’s Met Gala theme was “Manys x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.” Posen created a fiber-optic organza luminescent dress for Danes, who has become one of his fashion muses over the years. In the light, the dress looks fairly typical, albeit gorgeous on its own. But in the dark, the dress comes alive in a stunning way. In fact, it took 30 battery packs sewn into the fabric to create the stunning effect!
See the magnificent dress in all its glory…
Minutes before taking to the red carpet, fashion designer Zac Posen teased his Instagram followers with this photo of his new masterpiece... and the celebrity who wore it.
It was 37-year-old actress Claire Danes, and she arrived at the Met Gala in New York City in Posen's fiber-optic organza dress.
The dress itself is absolutely stunning — but when the lights turned down, the dress revealed its jaw-dropping surprise.
In the dark, Danes' gown lit up all along the entire skirt and bust, creating a gorgeous luminescent effect.
To create the glow-in-the-dark gown, 30 battery packs were sewn into the fabric.
After Posen shared photos of the dress in all its glory, it instantly went viral.
Danes has since been dubbed the 'Galactic Cinderella,' and it's easy to see why. This is seriously gorgeous!
