Lito’s Way is a burger behemoth, what with two 1/3 pound patties of Angus Sirloin beef, bacon stack, provolone cheese and a secret sauce. Similar to the other burgers at Irie, Lito’s Way is also hand-crafted Angus Sirloin beef seasoned with salt and pepper. It is cooked in a flat top and served on a brioche bun.
If you love your meat and protein is what you crave, you will definitely love Lito’s Way. An Irie burger patty is 1/3 pounds each and if you double the patty as that of Lito’s Way, then every protein lover may have just found his dream burger. Start counting your protein!
Who is Lito?
“Every concept has a story. A real story. ”, Chef Jan Rodriguez said in a Facebook post. Such is true in the making of Lito’s Way Burger. This burger concept is named after the late Lito Inso who was the business owner of Irie Gastropubliko, together with Jan (who now partners with Lito’s wife/widow, Ara Inso). Lito’s thirst and enthusiasm for life is evident in his accomplishments. He had a momentous battle with the Big C after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) back in 2012. He was unwavering, smiling with his humor and passion still intact up to his last day on this same month two years ago. He was a brave one, and he was a great person who was magnetic and influential in his enthusiasm for life.
Prior to his diagnosis, he excelled in all things he was passionate about. In photography, he was one of the most sought-after local wedding and commercial photographers in the Philippines. Internationally, he did the country proud by bagging international multi-awards in the Weddings and Portraits Photographers International Contest (WPPI). Here in iSTORYA.NET, he was our beloved CraSHBURN, moderator and one of the first members when our site was on its neophyte stages. In computers, he was able to manage his own computer business in Lapu-Lapu City for a decade, INSOtec Computers. In bodybuilding, he was known to check out nutrition facts and count his calories and protein. He was able to achieve a six-pack and was quite a catch (lucky you, Ara!)
Needless to say, Lito Inso was not your ordinary guy. And it shows in the burger named after him. It’s not just your ordinary burger. It is meant to be experienced the way Lito Inso would have experienced it—dirty, hands-on, and not scrimping on the protein.
“We are not just talking about a burger. We are talking about how a burger was and should be enjoyed. We are talking about an experience by a person who had the love and passion for life. Sometimes, getting a tattoo or writing about him just isn’t honor enough. The next best thing is to pay homage to the person that he was by naming a protein-laden burger after him. He will always be remembered.”, says Ara Inso fondly.
