• Ayala Malls Central Bloc Celebrates Tattoo and Theatre Arts with Komunidad

Ayala Malls Central Bloc recently unveiled its new and significant Komunidad campaign from May 24 to 26.

'Komunidad' is the Filipino word for 'community,' which refers to a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. It can also mean a group of individuals who share common interests, values, or goals and interact with each other in a social, cultural, or organizational context. The Komunidad campaign aims to foster a sense of unity and shared interests among artists and enthusiasts in Cebu City.

Unveiling the first Komunidad, we presented a truly unique and captivating experience titled 'Inked Scripts,' a celebration of the fascinating intersection of tattoo culture and theater arts, all brought together by the timeless medium – the pen.

Deedee Villegas, the renowned Inked Queen, attended the event. Known for her intricate and vibrant tattoo designs; Ronnie Macapagal, VisMin's Father of the Tattoo Industry, President of the Cebu Tattoo Club, and Founder of the Cebu Tattoo Community, who has been instrumental in promoting the art of tattooing in the region; Michael Vestial, the owner of
SGoons Tattoo Supply, a leading provider of tattoo equipment and supplies; Jude Gitamondoc, an award-winning professional songwriter, record producer, and director based in Cebu City, whose works have garnered critical acclaim; Josh Eballe, co-founder of OurHouse - a Cebu-based theater organization that has been at the forefront of promoting
performing arts; and Nini Neri, Vaudeville's in-house Marketing Director and performer, known for her captivating stage presence.

The event also featured special performances by the University of the Philippines Cebu Theatre Group UPSTAGE, a talented ensemble of student actors and performers, and DreamCatchers Live, a local theater troupe renowned for its innovative and thought-provoking productions. Over the three-day event, a series of talks and performances occurred, culminating in the Slink Ink Challenge, a minimalist tattoo competition.

Through Komunidad: Inked Scripts, Ayala Malls Central Bloc not only celebrated creative expression but also fostered a strong and inclusive sense of community among artists, performers, and enthusiasts, uniting the worlds of body art and performing arts in unique and engaging displays.
