Convergys HUGYAW, the biggest BPO employee event in Cebu launched its 6th year this April with a unique and remarkable charity fun run as opening ceremony. Over 6000 Convergys employees from 8 sites were joined by family and friends for the “RUN AS ONE” held at the Cebu Business Park. To give back to the community, registration fees for running slots were set and all proceeds were donated to the Philippine Accessible Disability Services Inc. (PADS), a non-government organization working to enable persons-with-disabilities grow as independent and empowered citizens.
Employees raised a total of Php 337,350 for PADS, which will help in the latter’s efforts to provide wheelchairs, fund adaptive sports programs, and support the Special Education (SPED) centers in different public schools in Cebu. The donation was turned over to PADS representatives, who also joined in the run.
Aside from the fun run opening ceremony and its philanthropic purpose, an artistic showcase was also put on display from an inter-site mural painting competition. And in line with unique components and added activities this year, HUGYAW extends to almost 3 months.
Finally, Hugyaw expands its name to “YOUnified: Hugyaw” this 2018, as the engagement program will include other sites located in Metro Manila and Bacolod later in the year, carrying the YOUnified shared name. The employee event series demonstrates that Convergys is not only a great company to grow a career, but also one that provides a great experience to build camaraderie and showcase personal talents.
Convergys YOUnified Hugyaw originated in Cebu since 2012, and beginning this year, will continue in site clusters in Manila as YOUnified: Siklab and in Bacolod as YOUnified: Sinadya.
