Festival organizers have launched the 2011 MassKara Festival Photo-Video Contest titled “Kari sa MassKara, Dala Kamera Year III.”

The Silver MassKara Festival Organization (SMFO), organizer of the festival, has appointed the Camera Club of Negros (CCN) as the official organizer of the photo-video contest, festival director Eli F. J. Tajanlangit said.

Canon is the festival’s official photo partner, he said.

The grand prize winner of the photo contest will receive a Canon EOS 1000D DSLR camera; second prize winner gets P10,000 and third prize winner—P5,000.

The winners will also receive trophies.

The contest will have an entry fee of P500 for the Competition ID card allowing them access to most festival activities, he said.

Entry photos and videos should be taken during the 2011 MassKara Festival activities like the streetdance competition on Oct. 15-16, and Electric MassKara at Lacson St. on Oct. 14-15.

Sidelights or human interest photos taken during the duration of the festival from Oct. 1 to 19 are also accepted.

For video entries, participants shall submit a video that best engages and educates the global public about the MassKara Festival.

Interested parties may secure from and submit entry forms at the following registration centers: Lopue’s Color Lab at Lopue’s Araneta, Bacolod City or The Camera Bug at Lopue’s East Center Annex building.
