DOT Central Visayas "BEYOND AWESOME" Photo Contest

a. This contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers, eighteen (1 years old and above, and resident of the Philippines.

b. The duration of the contest is from July 6 to September 6, 2011.

c. An official entry shall comprise the following:
1. A valid entry is any photo taken from January 2010 to September 6, 2011.

2. An un-mounted 5”x7” Photo Print without borders with a completely filled-up photo orientation form pasted at the back of the entry showing the proper orientation with: the photographer’s cell phone number, a brief Description of image, Date and Place Taken;

3. The RAW file and JPEG file (edited file) of the image in CD/DVD format with the name of the photographer on the CD/DVD;

4. Analog/Film Camera entries are allowed, with the submission of the corresponding negative of the entry;

5. Official entries are to be placed in a sealed envelope with the Photographer’s name and address on the upper left hand portion;

d. All entries must be received by September 6, 2011.

f. The Photo Contest Categories are:

1. “Cebu”
2. “Bohol”
3. “Dumaguete”
4. “Siquijor”

Photo entries should show the local Tourism sites, or undiscovered potential Tourist attractions of the locality/province concerned, or local delicacies, food varieties or handicrafts/products unique to the locality.

Contest Guidelines:
1. A valid entry is any photo taken from January 2010 to September 6, 2011.

2. All images submitted may be in full color, sepia or black and white. HDR (High Dynamic Range), IR (Infra Red), and Panoramic (stitched) images shall not be accepted.

3. Post processing like exposure control (dodge and burn); Color saturation (control); creative cropping, contrast/brightness adjustment, and other minor digital retouching is allowed. Composite images and digital alteration like adding/removing of any part of the image are disallowed.

Criteria for Judging:
30% - Relevance to the Category Theme
30% - Composition
25% - Quality of Image (sharpness/exposure/lighting)
15% - Creativity/Originality

4. Identifying marks, and signs to insinuate information of ownership is strictly prohibited on the photo entry.

5. All entries should be mailed or personally delivered in a sealed envelope to Campaigns Cebu, 6F BF Building, Escario St., Cebu City 6000.

6. All entries must be received by September 6, 2011. Any delay in the delivery of the entries via postal mail or any courier provider shall not be considered by the organizers.

7. Should there be subjects in the image, there must be a signed personal release form from person/s appearing in the photo entry, to be submitted and enclosed together with the photo contest entry. Non-inclusion of the release form will result in the outright disqualification of the photo entry.

8. By joining this contest, winners and finalists agree that the royalty of the photographer shall not apply every time the Department of Tourism Region 7 (DOT 7) will use the photos and grants the DOT royalty-free, world-wide, exclusive license to display and reproduce the photo/s for promotional purposes. Rights to the winning entries shall belong exclusively to DOT 7. Ownership of the photo shall be retained by the photographer The photographer may not use the photographs or variation of that same composition for any other purpose except for his personal portfolio. Photographers will be given photo credits every time applicable.

Prizes:
Four categories, with winners each receiving:

1st Place - P20,000
2nd Place - P15,000
3rd Place - P10,000
