I was reading at the Wikipedia entry on "Father's Day" and realized that, although the date differs across the 53 or so countries that celebrate it, most of the countries celebrate it on the "third Sunday of June". Now, incidentally, sometimes, the third Sunday of June is June 21st, which is the summer solstice, the time when the northern part of the earth's axis points towards the sun, signalling the "official" start of summer (this btw, actually caused me a lot of ...
Time and time again, I've been looking for an easy way to explain what I do for a living, without much success--people still think I design webpages or operate some sort of online sales or graphics outsourcing firm. Nope. None of those. It's really kind of annoying, and I get envious of other people with "regular" jobs, because of the fact that if you ask someone "What do you do?" and they respond with "I'm a call center agent" then there's no more need ...

It's been months since I've actually gotten any decent exercise, and the only physical activity that I find interesting and fun is airsoft. So yesterday, Luthienne and I got invited by a bunch of iStoryans to join them in a friendly game at a gamesite near the GMA 7 compound, in Busay. I wasn't strong enough to get rid of them, perhaps you can be a lot stronger than ...
Since last week, I've been trying to finish stuff for an internal company project. It involves the creation of an suit of armor that is inspired by the "Underworld" series of movies, specifically the "Rise of the Lycans" prequel. I kept on putting it off for reasons I will explain below. I've made a lot of armor sets for Second Life since 2007. Now, I've been having trouble finishing this particular suit of armor, primarily because it involves something which I'm ...
The following video was created to demonstrate what our company did, for clients based in California. The Alameda County sim hosts the first virtual polling place in Second Life. It is located inside a replica of the Oakland courthouse. The project is commissioned by Lynne Easterwood of Alameda County. All the buildings, interiors, devices, animations and effects in the video were all made by Avatrian LLC. Machitopia, Avatrian's sister company, produced the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3G80PIWjcc ...
