I think that the screen is overkill... sobra ra ang Pixel Density, you won't even notice anything above 400 something PPI.

pero sige lang, lamig GPU. the same as the GPU in the PSVita

Nothing is over kill when it comes to screens and the PPI is only 264 its far from the iphone4 or the Galaxy Nexus. Im actually interested in this as my media and web device, I hope Apple has solved the backlight bleeding issues the ipad2 is suffering from.

Apple unveils new iPad with sharper screen

San Francisco: Apple's new iPad model features a sharper screen and a faster processor, the company confirmed on Wednesday.
Apple said the new display will be sharper than the high-definition television set in the living room. The company says it will show more saturated colours than previous models.
The company said the iPad is powered by a new chip with four processing cores, for smoother graphics.
At the launch event in San Francisco, Apple Inc. CEO Tim Cook said, "We are taking it to a whole new level and are redefining the category that Apple created with the original iPad."
Earlier, Cook spoke of a "post-PC" era dominated by the iPad and other Apple products.
Prices aren't changing from the previous models. They will start at $499. Versions capable of accessing cellular networks will cost $629 to $829.

i have ipad2. while i love it so much. the only thing i complain about it is the 1024x768 resolution. even comparing my ipod touch 4th gen 960x640 to the ipad2, di jud kalupig ang ipad2 becoz pino kaayo ang pixels sa ipod touch 4gen. and also, the camera is very disappointing.

what apple did to the iphones and ipod touch retina display they did the same thing with the ipad3.
old iphones and ipod touches = 480x320 new iphones and ipod touches = 960x640
old ipad1 and ipad2 = 1024x768 new ipad3 = 2048x1536

they quadrupled the amount of pixels. its even higher than the resolution of a 1080p tv 1920x1080!

the two things im very happy with this new ipad3 is the 2048x1536 retina display and the improved camera.
